OpenBot 0.37.0
New
- A scheduled routine has the setting "If OpenBot was closed at the scheduled time". "Skip this run" is the default. "Run once when OpenBot opens" starts one run for the most recent missed time.
- The run history shows the runs that OpenBot skipped while it was closed, as one row for each group, and marks a run that started more than one minute late.
- Connect the phone app to a self-hosted or Docker server. Run
openbot mobile-connecton the server (docker exec -it <container> openbot mobile-connectin Docker) and scan the QR code with the phone app. Before, only the desktop app could show a Mobile Connect code. - On this computer, you can log in to Grok, Cursor, Cline and Muse with a code, as you can for ChatGPT. On Linux, you can also log in to Claude with a code that you paste.
- When a browser sign-in that you start does not finish after 25 seconds, or fails, the provider row and the composer show a "Log in with code" button.
- On this computer, you can connect Gemini with a Gemini API key. Select Sign in on the Gemini row to save the key.
- Settings > Voice shows the dictation models. You can download, cancel, and select a model there.
- You can download Whisper large-v3 turbo (1 GB) as a second dictation model. It knows about 100 languages. With Whisper, you can set the dictation language, for example Hungarian, or keep Automatic. Whisper writes the text when you stop, not while you speak. Parakeet stays the default and finds the spoken language itself.
Improved
- German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Turkish now translate all interface text. Before, some screens, errors and status messages showed English text.
Fixed
- Claude agents keep their prompt cache when their saved memories change. Before, each memory change, such as a new memory that the agent saved, made the next turn write the whole conversation to the cache again. The agent now gets the change with its next message.
- Show "1 unread message" and "1 unread direct message" in the desktop sidebar. Before, these labels used the plural for one message.
- Translate open notifications again when you change the language. Before, a provider update notification and the close button of each notification kept the previous language.
- In the desktop app, an image that you paste or a file that you drop into a channel chat now appears as an attachment. Before, the channel chat ignored it, and only the attachment button worked.
- An agent whose plan ran out of usage can now change to a model of another provider. Before, the change failed with "Could not change model" while the agent held a queued message, and the agent stayed on the spent plan until it reset. The queued message now runs on the new model.
- Agents in a channel no longer read the thinking of other agents. Before, when one Claude agent in a channel had thinking text in its turn, Claude stopped every later assignment in that channel with a
reasoning_extractionsafeguard error until the channel summary covered the text. The channel still shows the thinking. - The chat input keeps focus while agents work in the background. Before, a browser popup that an agent opened, or a browser tab that an agent or a page closed, took focus from the chat input when the browser panel was open.
- Keys that you type during a short provider restart or server reconnect are no longer lost.
- A click into the chat input that closes a popover keeps the focus in the chat input. Before, the focus went back to the button that opened the popover.
- Connect for Gemini now works on a Linux server that you joined, such as a Docker server. Before, the button did nothing. The server opens the Google page in its own browser, and you sign in through the live view of that page in the app or the web client. Only an owner or admin can do this.
- A finished agent reply no longer stays cut off after about 220 characters until the window is reloaded. This happened most often in a desktop app connected to another computer or server. A streaming reply also no longer loses its middle part while other agents work, and the Dynamic Island no longer cuts a reply that it already shows.
- After a joined server restarts, the first action on that server no longer fails with "Provider settings are not supported by this connection." Before, a second try was necessary.
- Let users close the usage-limit notice above the message box. Keep the current notice dismissed when they return to the chat, and show a notice again for a new quota window.
